Learn the communication skills you need to get ahead in life and your career. The Department of Communication Studies prepares you to communicate in a modern, diverse world effectively. The courses, which supplement most areas of study, are as wide-ranging as the contexts in which humans communicate and focus on necessary professional skills, including public speaking, interpersonal communication, and intercultural communication. Communication Studies lays the foundation for careers in media, public relations, organizational communication, advocacy, sales, or management. All employers seek employees with good communication skills. As a Communication Studies student, you can further develop your skills through ECC’s national award-winning speech and debate team.
