Student Employment Programs

Staff and students at a campus event

Working on campus is a great way to gain experience and skills

ECC hires students to work in various offices and departments across the campus, from the admissions office to the arts center to the fitness center. Most student jobs involve 10 to 20 hours a week and are paid $13 per hour.

There are two types of student employment.

  • Federal Work-Study positions are awarded based on financial need as determined by the FAFSA. You must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 to qualify.
  • Institutional Work-Study is available to students enrolled in at least six credit hours and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. You do not need to be eligible for other federal or state aid forms to work on campus.

How to Find a Campus Job

  • Visit ECC jobs to view and apply for a student job. Stop in the Financial Aid Office for questions regarding student employment.
  • Check the campus job listings posted outside the Financial Aid Office.

Other options are available if you don’t qualify for campus jobs, including Future Workforce Leaders, which offers paid work experience.
