College Night 2022

Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities will be at Elgin Community College on Tuesday, October 3, to help students and families explore their options. This free event runs from 6 to 8 pm in Building J, Events Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Visitors should park in the red lot marked “J” and enter the college through the lobby of Building J.

Current college students, high school students, and other prospective students are encouraged to attend the event to learn more about the schools they would like to transfer to. Registration is recommended for the event through app.strivescan.com/registration. After registering, attendees will receive a bar code that can be scanned by colleges, automatically adding interested students to their mailing list for more information about their school.

Additional activities during College Night include a presentation from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission on using financial aid to help pay for college. Two identical sessions will be offered at 6:15 to 7 pm and 7:15 to 8 pm. The presentation introduces students and parents to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid.

ECC’s College Transitions Department is also hosting a College and Career Readiness (CCR) workshop during the event titled “The Paths After High School” from 6 to 7 pm in Building M, Room M109, or virtual. Registration is required. Those interested in attending can register here.

College Night is sponsored by the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling in cooperation with ECC and other area schools. For more information, contact ECC’s Admissions & Recruitment Department at 847-214-7385 or visit elgin.edu/collegenight to see a list of schools attending.
