On Saturday, Feb. 1, Mariel Franco became the second ECC basketball player to reach 1,000 career points this year. Men’s basketball player Kelvin Cortez-Harvey achieved this same feat just a few weeks prior.
Sophomore Franco scored her 1,000th point during a home game against Waubonsee, one of 36 points she racked-up during the game. Cortez-Harvey scored his milestone bucket on Jan. 16 against Morton on a 3-pointer.
