Math Placement Test

Math requirements vary greatly based on your major, degree or certificate, and the requirements of your intended transfer institution. Speak with an academic advisor during new student orientation or before registering to ensure the correct math course is chosen. To demonstrate college-ready math skills, review testing scores summary to determine if you need to take placement testing.

Why take the ALEKS PPL Assessment?

The placement assessment score will be used to determine the most appropriate course for each student as they move forward with college coursework.

  • Students will meet with an academic advisor during new student orientation to review their results after taking a Placement Assessment.
  • Based on the Placement Assessment scores, the advisor will review and enroll students in the best class.
  • Transfer students should make an appointment with an academic advisor to review their results and enroll in the best class based on their score.

This is a “Placement Assessment”; not a test. The difference is that a Placement Assessment is designed to determine what a student knows and what a student needs to work on.
