The Elgin Community College Foundation has established the ECC Foundation Emergency Student Relief Fund to help students most impacted by this crisis. The ECC Foundation Emergency Student Relief Fund has already been seeded with a generous donation of $10,000. We are seeking community support to ensure every impacted student can continue their education in these uncertain economic times.
Even as we write this email, we realize changes could occur that will affect campus operations, teaching, and instruction for the next few months. We also know in these uncertain times that it is important to have information that helps you make important decisions and plan ahead. At the time of this communication, there have been no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 on any of the ECC locations.
Elgin Community College is aware that information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to rapidly evolve. In fact, this worldwide pandemic has undoubtedly led to anxiety and uncertainty while impacting lives and daily business operations in every industry.

Upon careful review of the latest travel advisories issued to Italy by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Warning - Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel and the U.S. Department of State Level 3: Reconsider Travel and a Level 4 - Do Not Travel to certain regions, the College has decided to postpone the Language and Culture 2020 study abroad program to Urbania, Italy until summer 2021.

The Elgin Community College Emergency Management Department works closely with the Kane County Health Department (KCHD) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to monitor and address health concerns that could impact our campus community. Most recently, the College has been closely tracking the COVID-19 virus (previously named Coronavirus).
Recent news stories relating to a new strain of coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, may be causing you concern. At this time, the Kane County Health Department (KCDH) is reporting no confirmed or suspected cases of the coronavirus in Kane County.
